Los Angeles Times readers voted for the “best” in 80 categories, including Entertainment, Food, Health, Home & Garden, Media, and Shopping. The Best of the Southland was a two-part competition. The first stage of voting included five regions:

Westside / Central L.A. / East L.A.
Orange County
San Gabriel / Inland Empire
San Fernando Valley / Ventura
South Bay / Long Beach / South L.A.

In this first stage of voting, Metropolitan High Performance Windows won Best Doors & Windows in Orange County. Metropolitan High Performance Windows of Riverside won Best Doors & Windows in San Gabriel Valley / Inland Empire.

After determining the winners for each of the above regions, the second and final voting stage commenced, selecting the overall “bests” for all five regions – the entire Southland. Metropolitan High Performance Windows beat massive brands and window companies in Ventura, Riverside, Los Angeles, and Orange Counties to earn the “Best of the Southland” title.
